The first Vilebrequin swim trunks were born from the imagination of journalist Fred Prysquel who fashioned stylish swimwear from spinnaker canvas. Quick-drying and durable, Vilebrequin swim trunks – bursting with bright colours and whimsical prints – soon became the essence of a carefree lifestyle relished by those holidaying along the Mediterranean in the early 70s such as the screen goddess Brigitte Bardot, heartthrob Alain Delon, screenwriter Roger Vadim and many more. Today Vilebrequin remains the preferred swimwear of European Royalty, actor Jude Law, hip-hop kingpin Jay-Z and tennis legend Rafael Nadal.
