Yes, it’s another big black box, but at the moment the Sony PlayStation 4 is the most powerful gaming console out there. With 32 times more memory than the PS3 and a firm focus on pure gaming experiences rather than media mojo, it’s a gaming console built by gamers for gamers.
Not only for gamers the PS4 is also designed to be social, with users able to view a running feed of their friends’ activity and connect their profiles to Twitter and Facebook. Most reviews conclude by talking “potential”. The PS4 has lots of it. It’s a powerful machine with exciting features and a great controller.
1. Controller battery pack!
The new DualShock 4 controller is definitely an improvement but not perfect at all. The DS3 had around 22 hours of playtime on it while the DS4 only has around 6 hours.
2. Necessities plus a headset
Much like the PS3, the Playstation 4 comes with the system itself, a power cable, an HDMI cable, a DualShock 4 controller and a USB cable. But unlike the PS3, the PS4 includes with a mono headset for players to talk to one another.
3. No You-Tube support
One of the PS4 console’s biggest selling points has been the ability to share content at the click of a button, allowing players to share video clips and screenshots on the go. However, this feature is currently limited to being able to upload only to your Facebook profile.
4. Mp3? What is that?
The PS4 will not allow you to play MP3 files through the console. Streaming media content from other devices is a no-go too. Unlike the current PS3, the console also lacks DLNA and media server support, so users won’t be able to share content from their home PC.
5. Gaming everywhere!
If any of your mates own a PS4, you can sign in to your PSN account at their man den and all your digital games will be available to download (saves and all). That’s magic for a gaming night.
