Today, the story has a new chapter: the Typewriter Edition collection. This time, the focus is an object from not so long ago – the typewriter. It’s a sophisticated legacy that Persol interprets – using the finest materials and its own artisanal savoir faire – with innovative flourishes that characterise the four pieces in the Typewriter collection: two pairs of sunglasses and two pairs of regular frames.
The newly-designed metallic bridge, for example, is embellished with subtle etching, whilst rivets bearing the letters of the old keyboards adorn the frames. The legendary American Typewriter font is used to engrave the collection’s name into the inside of the stems, the tips of which carry a radial motif in a clear nod to the mechanics of the old machines.
