Chivas Regal 25 Year Old Scotch Whisky has enticing fruity aromas of sweet orange and peach, followed by notes of marzipan and nuts. Hints of rich milk chocolate orange and a fondant creaminess are the lead in to a finish that is smooth rounded and luxuriously long. We can’t think of a finer way to raise a toast to the New Year. Cheers!!!

For the serious wet shaver – look no further. This 100% Natural Badger-hair brush is soft and durable. This tool is essential to achieve a great shave by lifting facial hair and creating lather.

The chrome plated traditional safety razor, also known as a Double Edge Safety Razor is probably what your father used and was first introduced in the late 18th century as an alternative to the cut throat blade. A befitting addition to any man’s bathroom today as classic style wet shaving is making a resurgence.

We know what you’re thinking. Scented candles? Really? But here’s the thing: There may have been a time when they were ou vrou, but today a variety of sophisticated candles serve the same purpose for your room as cologne for your body—not to smell pretty, but striking, attractive, and yes, masculine. Baxter of California’s White Wood – a series of 3 distinct woodsy scents – will set the mood and give you the right scent support to man up to the job.

The motorcycle is back! Similar to the fresh contemporary scene that has established itself around bicycles in the last few years, the motorcycle is currently undergoing an aesthetic rebirth. A young subculture worldwide is discovering the motorcycle as an expression of its personality and creativity.

The Ride explores motorcycle riding as it is meant to be: as a means of getting around with attitude, as an extension of one’s own body, as an expression of personal freedom, but also as a significant challenge to technical expertise, craftsmanship, physics, discipline, and driving skill.

Minttheshop.com has very quickly become one of my favourite places to buy antiques and collectables. Kirsty Machen, the brains behind the operation, sells everything from furniture and glassware to art and silverware at a steal. What makes this different from regular antique stores is that she only sells her stuff online. New deals are posted Monday to Friday and everything gets sold on a first-comment-first-sold basis. It’s also incredibly newbie friendly so you’ll never have to pretend to know anything about antiques to save face!

Remote-control cars, normally the toy of choice for teens, has — thanks to Traxxas — just became a lot more grown up.  And the Traxxas XO-1, the world’s fastest remote-control car, is definitely no toy—the 27-inch-long aluminum-framed racer accelerates from 0 to 160 k’s per hour in less than five seconds thanks to high-speed gearing and a brushless electric motor powered by lithium-ion polymer batteries. It even comes with an iPhone app and tune-up software, along with the ability to record real-time speed and RPM. Shinguards not included.

Exploring the border-zones between fashion, performance and contemporary art, acclaimed South Africa artist  Athi-Patra Ruga, makes work that exposes and subverts the body in relation to structure, ideology and politics.

His latest works – The Future White Women of Azania Saga – is a vibrant explosion of colour and texture. Ruga’s creation of  “alternative identities and close-to-home mythical characters” are a feast for mind and eye. It is undoubtedly one of the most exhilarating exhibitions I have seen this year. My personal favourite?  “Trust no Bitch” – in wool, thread, glue and glitter on a tapestry canvas creating a tropical backdrop for complex identities.
